Hair Care - Moisture

Hair can dry out just like our skin does. Dry hair looks matte, straw-like and limb. Providing the necessary moisture is therefore essential. I like to share with you methods of providing hair with moisture

The most common reason for limb lacklustre hair is the acute lack of moisture. Another sign of too little moisture in your hair is static electricity. While a moisture content of 10 % is sufficient for the skin, hair needs 15 to 17 % water.

Moisture Draining Factors
Dry heat deprives hair of moisture. When hair is dry already daily blow-drying and the frequent use of heated rollers and flat irons will quickly turn hair and scalp desert-dry. You should therefore use heat-styling tools sparingly and keep the blow-dryer settings on low-heat and full air flow. During visits to the sauna in winter you should be sure to wrap a towel around your hair to protect it from the dry heat (up to 100 °C or 212 °F). Protection against moisture loss works even better after you have worked a conditioning cure through your hair. The same applies to spending time at the beach. Wearing a hat, cap or bandana protects your hair from extreme moisture loss and the resulting frizzy hair. Keeping your hair properly moisturised is particularly important for colour-treated or permed hair.

Sources of Moisture for Your Hair
Water is a special medium. Drinking it provides the needed water to sustain the body’s metabolic processes and to support the cell structures. If used externally for a bath, shower or shampoo, water can drain water from skin and hair. This sounds paradoxical but it is true. It is therefore important to use moisturising hair care shampoos. Among the most efficient moisturising and conditioning agents in shampoos and hair rinses are Aloe vera, glycerol, panthenol as well as silk and wheat proteins. Thanks to their molecular structures, these active agents bind moisture inside the hair or coat each individual hair with a protective film. This keeps the hair smooth and seals the cuticles. The sealing effect allows the hair to better retain water.

Hair Therapy - Schwarzkopf Professional Bonacure Hair Growth Shampoo & Serum

This is my first product from Schwarzkopf Professional range which I got when my hair dresser noticed my reducing hair line and has recommended the same. I have bought this shampoo as well as a serum after going through the website. BONACURE Hair Therapy range with Amino Cell rebuild technology is suited to repair hair to prevent damage and hair loss.

Seriously speaking I am not looking for Hair Growth as I know it can't happen. I am just looking at controlling the damage and volumizing what I have. So I keep on posting about the review of the product. I tried to find about the reviews online before purchasing it but in vain. That's why I decided to go ahead and post it for all those souls who like me might look for some recommendations.

My First Experience: Well my first experience was good. Not much leather on the first use but then I used it again. I kept it for 2-3mins and then rinsed it thoroughly. I liked the gentleness of the shampoo and the rich mild fragrance it left. It's still there after three hours. My hair are still soft even after three hours. Will get back to it after a week. In the meanwhile you can check about the product:
What the product claims?
BC Hair Growth regime combines an activating shampoo, activating serum and fortifying tonic (tonic was unavailable - distributor said they have discontinued the product). It activated the roots of thinning hair and reduced premature hair loss. This regime uses active ingredients like carnitine Tartrate, Taurine and Echinacea to stimulate hair growth from the hair root and increase hair density.

Taurine: Originally extracted from bulls (Taurus in Latin) around the beginning of 19th century, Taurine is now synthetically produced and is a well-known ingredient that provides natural energy. Taurine facilitates the production of growth factors as well as providing high energy compounds.

Carnitine Tartrate: An energiser for the scalp. Its main function is to carry energy to the hair roots. Carnitine Tartrate supports the vitality of the hair roots and promoted increased cell division and cell reproduction.

Echinacea Purpurea: Echinacea is extracted from Echinacea Purpurea, a plant from the Asteraceae (Daisy( family. Echinacea comprises a complex assortment of herbal substances, and essential oils

Amino Cell Rebuild Technology: Penetrated deeply into the hair to repair the inner cell structure.

Shampoo Application: Apply to wet hair and massage thoroughly. Leave in for 2 minutes and then rinse

Serum: The serum comes in small ampules. Pump out a measurement and slowly massage into the hair and scalp. This procedure promoted blood circulation and enhances hair follicles and roots which leads to improved hair quality. It stops the formation of DHT, a chemical that stops hair growth, by removing the DHT from the hair follicles, thus freeing up the hair to grow.
The hair serum when applied on the hair and scalp reconstructs damaged hair, thickens weak or thin hair. This process not only prevents hair breakage but restores hair to its original lustre.

Serum Application: Massage adequate amount on scalp at night. Wash your hands after application.
